MV CLIMATEHEAT PUMP SPECIALISTS

Central Auckland · North Shore · West Auckland · East Auckland
South Auckland · Franklin · Rodney & Hibiscus Coast

Warm in winter.
Cool in summer.

A heat pump is the only thing in the house that does both, but only if it was sized for the room and installed properly. We do installs, servicing, repairs and cleaning, and we fit six brands, so the recommendation fits your room and your budget rather than whatever we happen to stock.

No brand tie-in

We fit six brands

We're not a single-brand dealer, so nobody here has a reason to talk you into a unit that doesn't suit the room. Tell us the space and the budget and we'll tell you what actually fits.

How it works

Four steps, no surprises

1

Tell us the room

Room size and a photo of the wall you're thinking of. Or just call and describe it. That's usually faster.

2

Quote back the same day

A fixed price for the job, with the unit we'd recommend and why. Not a range, and not a "from" price that changes on the day.

3

We install it

Registered electrician on site. We lay drop sheets, we take the packaging away with us, and we test it before we leave.

4

Tested and signed off

We run it hot and cold in front of you, show you how the controller works, and register the manufacturer warranty so you don't have to.

Why us

Two of us. Both on the tools.

That's the whole company. It means the person who quotes your job is the person who turns up to do it, and the person you ring when you have a question afterwards.

No call centre

You get a mobile, not a ticket number. Same person, start to finish.

Same-day quote

A big outfit takes three days to price a job. We can do it today, because there's no queue between you and us.

Six brands, no tie-in

Fujitsu through to Haier. We recommend on the room and the budget, not on what's in the warehouse.

Recent work

Real installs, real rooms

Photos from jobs around Auckland. Every one shows the finished unit, the pipework and the tidy-up, because that's what separates a good install from a cheap one.

Questions

The things people ask us first

What does a heat pump actually cost?
Our installation labour starts at $500 and the unit is supplied separately, so the total depends on which brand and capacity the room needs. A small bedroom high-wall is a very different number to a living area that has to heat an open-plan space. Tell us the room and we'll give you the whole figure, unit and labour together, the same day.
How long does an install take?
A straightforward high-wall in a single-storey house is usually half a day. Two-storey, long pipe runs, or a ducted system takes longer, and we'll tell you which yours is when we quote, not when we turn up.
Do I need council consent?
Most standard high-wall installs don't require building consent, but there are exceptions depending on the building and where the unit goes. We'll flag it before we start if yours is one of them.
How often should it be serviced?
Once a year for a home, more often if you run it hard or you're near the coast where salt gets into the outdoor coil. Skipping it costs you twice: the unit works harder for less heat, and most manufacturers require servicing for the warranty to stay valid.
My heat pump smells musty. Is that normal?
No, and it's worth dealing with. That smell is mould and bacteria growing in the moisture inside the indoor unit, and every time you turn it on it goes into the room you're breathing in. A filter rinse won't fix it. The growth is deeper in, on the barrel fan and the coil. That's what a full clean is for.
Which brand should I get?
It depends on the room and the budget, which is exactly why we fit six. Midea and Haier do the job well at the lower end. Mitsubishi, Daikin and Fujitsu cost more and are quieter and better built. Carrier sits in between and is strong on ducted. We'll tell you which we'd put in our own house and why.
